Trump: I have ordered two US nuclear submarines to be deployed to the relevant areas.
On August 1 local time, US President Trump posted on his social media account “Real Social” that in response to remarks made by Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Medvedev, he had ordered two nuclear submarines to be deployed to the relevant area.
According to a report by Reuters on the same day, Trump said that two nuclear submarines had been deployed to an area near Russia.
The Russian side has not yet responded to this.
On July 28 local time, US President Trump, who was visiting Scotland, said he was “very disappointed” with Russian President Putin and was reducing the 50-day deadline he had previously set for Russia and Ukraine to reach an agreement.
John Kelly, the U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, confirmed at a Security Council meeting on July 31 that Trump had set August 8 as the “final deadline for completing Russian-Ukrainian peace talks.”
Medvedev accused Trump on July 28 of playing “ultimatum games” and reminded him that “Russia still retains the ultimate nuclear strike capability from the Soviet era.” Medvedev stated that whether it is 50 days or 10 days, each new “ultimatum” is another threat moving closer to war.
