Microsoft confirms: Windows 10 extended security updates have bugs!

December 16th Update: Microsoft has officially confirmed that a bug in the December update patch has caused the Message Queuing (MSMQ) feature to fail in some Windows systems, impacting numerous enterprise applications and IIS web services.

According to Microsoft's announcement, affected systems include Windows 10 22H2, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. The involved update patches are KB5071546, KB5071544, and KB5071543.

Affected devices exhibit a series of functional abnormalities. IIS websites frequently display “insufficient resources” errors, preventing applications from writing data normally.

More misleadingly, even when system hardware resources are ample, the system still generates false warnings about “insufficient disk space or memory.”

MSMQ is a widely used network communication component in enterprise environments. Microsoft is investigating and seeking solutions but has not yet provided a clear release date for a fix.

Until an official fix is available, some administrators may need to consider rolling back the updates. However, this also means the system will be exposed to known security vulnerabilities.
