Japan's July 5 Doomsday Prophecy Only 1 Day Left! 13 of the Original Author's 15 Precognitive Dreams Have Already Come True
Only one day remains until the "great disaster on July 5, 2025" predicted by Japanese manga artist Ryuku Ryo in *The Future I Saw*, which claims a tsunami three times larger than the Great East Japan Earthquake will occur. Despite widespread skepticism in the scientific community, the prophecy has triggered a chain reaction in Japanese society, with increased sales of disaster preparedness products.
Some airlines have quietly reduced flights to Japan, while outbound travel has risen. Sources from Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism have confirmed this trend.
Recently, the prophecy that "a major disaster will occur on July 5, 2025" has gone viral online, even causing a sharp decline in foreign tourists visiting Japan. The Japanese government and experts have had to debunk the rumor, emphasizing that the prediction has no scientific basis.
Ryuku Ryo began recording her dreams in 1976, compiling them into what she called a "dream diary." In *The Future I Saw*, she documented 15 precognitive dreams, 13 of which are said to have already come true. In October 2021, Ryuku Ryo published *The Future I Saw: Complete Edition*, adding content since the 1999 publication and predicting a devastating earthquake and tsunami on July 5, 2025, which could submerge one-third of Japan's landmass.
The Japanese government and scientific institutions have actively responded, creating earthquake prediction models and denying the prophecy's scientific validity. The Japan Meteorological Agency and the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan have repeatedly stated that global seismic activity is currently in a "quiet period," with no signs of an imminent megaquake. Experts advise the public to focus on disaster preparedness rather than believing in specific date predictions—a stance repeatedly emphasized in media reports.
In interviews, Ryuku Ryo clarified that she was merely recording her dreams and did not intend to cause panic. In her June 2025 book *Orbital Correction*, she stated that July 5 is "not a day when everything will happen," but she did not completely dismiss the prophecy, sparking further debate.
On July 3, reports indicated frequent earthquakes near the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake (seismic intensity 6 weak) struck near the Tokara Islands at 16:13 Tokyo time (15:13 Beijing time). The agency issued a red alert for strong tremors. The area has experienced over 1,000 earthquakes in the past two weeks.
